Key Accountabilities / Activities:
As an Oracle Database Administrator, your primary responsibility will be the
administration and pro-active management of a 24x7 Oracle Production
environment. This position will require being part of a Tier 2 on-call
rotation schedule. Your primary duties will encompass responsibility for
various Oracle Databases including proactive monitoring and problem
resolution, trend analysis, capacity planning and management, vulnerability
management, procedure & configuration documentation as well as project
participation for any new and related projects. Duties will also include
support and administration of other database technologies - specifically
Sybase, SQL, and DB2.

Major Activities:

Participate in design, engineering, configuration, testing and performance
tuning of Oracle data warehousing environment. Provide technical leadership
in evaluating the design and coordinating the initiatives with application
development teams.

Support production environments, configuration, testing, and performance
tuning of all Oracle database environments.

Managing problem/project tickets queue and maintaining communication with
business team members.

Actively provide leadership and technical expertise to ongoing problem
identification/resolution and root cause analysis process.

Participate as a team member in evaluating system resource utilization and
storage usage/capacity, and makes recommendations to increase application
performance to meet business and financial requirements.

Requirements:

a.. Support, administer, and maintain Oracle 8i,9i & 10g environments
under UNIX.
b.. Oracle High Availability architectures (RAC, DATA GUARD)
c.. Oracle Enterprise Manager Diagnostic Pack, Tuning Pack
d.. Oracle Enterprise Edition Option Packs (OLAP, Data Mining)
e.. Data Modelling: Erwin.
f.. Sun Solaris 2.6, 2.8, & 2.9, Win2k & Win3K
g.. Other databases Sybase, SQL, and DB2
h.. 5-10 years experience in administering, and supporting of midrange and
large-scale Oracle DBMS environment. Proven experience in supporting VLDB
